Arizona & San Diego Trip

A few weeks ago we took a road trip to Arizona for our Nephew's first Birthday and then to San Diego for a wonderful mini vacay! We spent a lot of time in the car so I bought and brought everything I could think of to entertain the girls! Paige was hard at work typing some emails along the way ;) I bought the girls trays that strap around their car seats for coloring etc. Payton used hers a lot, Paige didn't really sit still enough for it. Can I just say I LOVE color wonder! Payton painted on the way and Paige "colored", the only trouble with Paige and markers is she colors the paper and everything else within reach, including herself. So color wonder was PERFECT for the trip!
It was a long day and we made it to our pit stop, Palm springs. AS SOON as we got there we went straight to the pool to relax! It was so nice out and there was no one else at the pool so we had a really nice time just us playing and swimming! Payton is getting to be a good swimmer and Paige LOVES the water, putting her face in, wanting to go under and jump in just like sissy!

Fri we arrived to AZ. The girls were so excited to see Eli!

They have a little above ground pool that they enjoyed, this trip was all about swimming!

Paige saw Mark and Karla's dog Eddie and freaked out! She was not a fan the first day because he jumped on her but they quickly became friends and she was chasing him before we left!

Payton helping Karla frost cupcakes!
Happy 1st birthday Eli!

That evening it was all about the Pinatas!

And more swimming!

We were so excited to be able to visit our high school friend Matt and his family! They live in AZ, not too far from where we were staying. We went to their house for lunch and you guessed it, more swimming! It was so fun to catch up with them after not seeing them for 4 years!
Our kids are fairly close in age so they had a great time together!

Paige trying to catch Cole for a hug!
Got him!
On our way to SD we stopped for a potty break in the middle of no where. Payton wanted her picture by the big cactus! (can you tell she is HOT!)

Yummy In and Out!
Finally made it to La Jolla! Had a great dinner and then hit the beach!

I love this picture!
Paige loved the beach!!

Definitely California Girls!
Payton and Daddy collected some neat seashells that evening!
Sea World!
I made the girls whale bows and shirts for the trip. Paige's shirt came out good, Payton's, I made around 1 am the night before we left so lets just say hers isn't as good ;)

Paige loved it!

Payton admiring the Dolphins!
Touching the Bat Rays
Paige trying to get a closer look at them!
So adorable!

Baby Baluga

This guy was definetely putting on a show for us!Grandma and Grandpa Alexander sent the girls along with some spending money, this is what they chose!

Another beautiful sunset! We stayed across the street from the beach so every night we would walk over to enjoy it!
My Favorite...
Payton excited to be at the beach again!
We had a fun day at the zoo! Lots of walking!

Paige loved this baby Gorilla!

I dont know why but this freaks me out!

The bear kept pacing back and forth as if he was protecting his den from us!

This was so cool to watch them paint!
I took him maybe 15 minutes and he did it to the rythm of fast music
After the zoo we went to old town SD. We were so excited when we found Fred's! We discovered this place in Hawaii during our last trip. I t is so good! It was right next to our condo so we ate there a few times, I was prego with Paige at the time so when I craved it we got it ;)

And of course one last trip to the pool!

We went to a great cafe for breakfast, and then we were on the road again...Home again home again, jiggity jig!
We had never been to SD before, and could have stayed at least a few more days! The good news is, my brother is moving there next week to get his Masters soooo that gives us a real good reason to go back! The girls sure are going to miss Uncle, we may just have to pay him a visit sooner than later ;)
